Community Land Trust Initiatives
Fort Worth Community Land Trust (FWCLT) has been established to operate as a community land trust, acquiring and holding land for the benefit of developing and preserving long-term affordable housing in Fort Worth, Texas. The organization's primary purpose will be to provide homeownership opportunities for low-income households and, secondarily, to provide rental housing opportunities, steward non-residential community assets, and/or serve a moderate income level to ensure neighborhood diversity. In taking on this task, FWCLT will also be serving to combat community deterioration in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods by promoting the development, rehabilitation, and maintenance of decent housing in these neighborhoods, by promoting economic opportunities for low-income residents of these neighborhoods, by making land available for projects and activities that improve the quality of life in these neighborhoods, and by assisting residents of these neighborhoods in improving the safety and well-being of their community. The activities of FWCLT can include (1) Making homes on FWCLT-owned property available and arranging their sale to eligible, qualified homebuyer households through the CLT strategy (a strategy considering the income level of the buyer and including leasehold restrictions to ensure sustained affordability), (2) Implementing buyer-initiated programs for qualified households, (3) Providing ongoing stewardship to CLT homeowners and to the homes they occupy, and (4) Managing its activities as a nonprofit corporation and small business including handling its governance matters, administration and financial management, fundraising, planning and evaluation, outreach and community education, neighborhood collaboration, and coalition building.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2023 – Dec 31, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided––
