Center for Employment Training

Programs
Program 1 [2018]
CET is a nonprofit organization established in 1967. CET operates employment training and subsidiary centers in several cities throughout the states of California, Virginia, and Texas. During the year covered, CET served 3,077 students.CET annually serves nearly 3,600 low-income, low-skilled individuals in need of basic education services, English language skills and job skills that will qualify them for employment in demand occupations relevant to their local labor market. Through the acquisition of job skills in current and emerging occupations, our target populations, including at-risk youth, ex-offenders, welfare recipients, single parents and long term unemployed, acquire employment that helps them become self-sufficient. As employed individuals, our graduates become more successful and contribute tax payer dollars back into the community and become healthier individuals overall. By completing a job training program, they have the foundation to educate their children and achieve self-esteem and self-respect to be productive throughout the balance of their lives. In addition, the impact of providing immediate "supportive services" to our students greatly improves their attendance rates, allows them to complete course competencies, and, most importantly, provides immediate financial relief so they may focus on learning job skills toward employment.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2017 – Jun 30, 2018Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$22.2MCenter for Employment Training
