The Aerospace Museum of California celebrates the history of aviation and aerospace and inspires future generations to explore, dream, and discover STEM through hands-on learning.The Aerospace Museum of California is one of aviation's greatest showcases that captures the allure of flight. With a wide range of impressive military and civilian aircraft on display from gliders to Russian MIGs to a US Navy Blue Angels fighter and a Top Gun F-14 Tomcat. -- along with an extensive engine collection, the Museum also offers a state-of-the-art STEM learning laboratory or Flight Zone with 10 interactive digital flight stations. The Museum is committed to providing a world-class experience along with the opportunity to learn about and celebrateaviation's past, present, and future.In 2020 the Museum continued to focus on developing and delivering engaging and hands-on STEM education to all our visitors. Our STEM mission is to offer students the opportunity to explore, discover, and be inspired by STEM. We hosted NASAs Hubble Space Telescope Exhibit until September 2020. The Museum was one of only three Sacramento museums able to open during the COVID-19 pandemic as an outdoor museum. We transformed our 4.5-acre Air Park into an outdoor learning classroom welcoming students, families, and visitors. Over 250 students from ages 5-13 attended summer camp in-person with 173 students participating virtually in online programs.37,033 Hubble visitors, 19,697 total visitors and 11,441 students participated in STEM tours and programs in 2020. The Museum hosted 1,050 event visitors. The Aerospace Museum of California is one of aviation's greatest showcases and captures all eras of mankinds fascination with flight. The Museum is committed to providing a world-class, Smithsonian Affiliate experience along with the opportunity to learn about and celebrate the past, present, and future of aerospace. Explore, discover, and be inspired by aviation and aerospace history. With a 40,000 square foot exhibit hall, over 40 aircraft and rockets, a 4-acre outdoor Air Park, incredible traveling exhibits, and permanent exhibits. Families can engage with our STEM educational activities for all ages and let their imagination soar. The museum is a Smithsonian Affiliate and member of North American Reciprocal Museum Associate. The Aerospace Museum of California is truly a place where dreams take flight!The Museum offers a variety of educational programs and opportunities for schools, children, families and adults including group tours, summer STEM camps, family events and activities. STEM education is the number one priority of the Aerospace Museum of California. Visitors of all ages can be inspired to explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. The Museums education programs are tailored to meet the needs of specific grade levels. All programs correlate with the State of Calfiornias Academic Standards for Science, Math, History/Social Science, and/or Language Arts. Guided tours, classes, and hands-on education programs help to educate and inspire visitors of all ages about aviation and aerospace through STEM. In 2022, the Museum continued to focus on developing and delivering engaging and hands-on STEM education to all our visitors. Our STEM mission is to offer students the opportunity to explore, discover, and be inspired by STEM and the history of aerospace.
