Educated policymakers(local, city and county) about the senior citizen needs regarding transit, safety, injury prevention and other needs. Healthy Living Festival was held as a virtual event due to the coronavirus pandemic to provide wellness connectedness for seniors, information, and both the distribution of food and swags bags with information & resources to them. #s served approximately 1500 registrants with 1500 food & swags distributed; outreach - 11,220 mailers, 6163 facebook post, broadcasted on 5 platforms to more than 2000; and provided emergency preparedness training presentation for seniors as part of the virtual event. Travel Training was adjusted due to the public health emergency to have wellness checks, provide Covid-19 information, advocacy on senior concerns with Covid-19 public transit resources and services, education on Covid-19 senior relief & recovery for public transit. Travel training also empowers seniors with independence, mobility, freedom, confidence, and benefits their mental health. #s served one group training with 9, and no 1 to 1 nor mini trainings, which was serverely impacted by the public health emergency, 45 trips planned and completed; outreach 2036 contacts, 40 clipper cards issued, 15 information & referrals; # of sessions/events 2 exhibits, 20 meetings, 3 roundtables; 10 continuing education trainings for staff; assisted 1 other travel trainer with a travel training session.2020 Census worked for a complete count of seniors and other low income vulnerable populations through outreach, education, and awareness mainly with remote contact methods, once again due to the Covid-19 pandemic. #s served 4043 census completed; sessions 14 meetings/events; outreach approximately 11,343 contacts.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2020 – Dec 31, 2020Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$172.5KSenior Support and Advocacy Programs
Highlighted achievements for older adults are as follows: (1) Total Membership - 13,433; (2) Probate & Conservatorship elder abuse training to 500 folks through Warren Publishing computer & telephone fraud series; (3) Medication Management the 20th Senior Injury Prevention Forum with 132 attendees; (4) Emergency Rental Assistance Program 124 social media contacts, 1185 e-blast,21 group phone contacts, 16 individual contacts, 61 canvass contacts, 263 announcement contacts at 9 Zoom meetings, and 7000 outreach communications; (5) Healthy Living Festival 23 sponsors, 7 honorary host, 75 exhibitors, 2500 attendees, 240 volunteers, over 2000 free nutritious lunches to seniors, flu shots and Covid-19 information; (6) Digital Literacy 20 devices, 60 lessons, 24 computers, 9 ipad tablets provided by the St. Marys Center We Connect program and the Computer Technology & Resource Center; in addition supported the circulation of the Countys Age Friendly Digital Needs Assessment survey (7) Affordable Housing through Gold Star Senior Shared Housing - 3 seniors placed, 33 on waiting list, 7 host properties, 11 meetings with an average of 5 attendees, and collaborated with Front Porch; (8) Covid-19 Relief & Recovery distributed thousands of safety and informational flyers, 13 meetings with the USOAC Board, 2 meetings with Doctor Moss (County Health Officer) and Doctor Noha (CEO of Roots Community Health Center) with 44 attendees, online technology training with 139 seniors, and over 15,000 outreach and social media contacts; (9) Travel Training met with reps from the Livermore Amador Valley Transportation Authority, 55 attendees for mini travel training, 1491 outreach contacts , 64 seniors to the Healthy Living Festival, 101 trip plans, and 24 travel trainees; (10) Advocacy Actions - 12 separate actions on senior quality of life were held and/or attended with about 1000 attendees including 200 duplicated, Walk Club Luncheon with 140 attendees, 10 meetings with an average attendance of 5 to 8 folks, Senior Injury Prevention conference with 132 attendees, over 2500 attendees at the Healthy Living Festival, and the Annual Convention with 140 attendees and 16 program reports; (11) Medication Management 15,325 outreach contacts and 268 trainees; (12) finally our monthly meetings had 40 duplicated attendees from 10 Eden Area Senior Action Group meetings with an average attendance of 4 to 7, Leadership Organizing Team meetings with an average attendance of 16 to 17, and 11 Senior Nutrition Advocacy Committee meetings with a roster of 23.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$170.2K
