California Association for Microenterprise Opportunity (CAMEO) is an association of 400 organizations, agencies, and individuals that served almost 200,000 very small businesses during 2022. CAMEO builds the capacity of the industry since 1993 and increases opportunities and resources for member organizations as well as low-income communities through entrepreneurship. CAMEO's capacity building programs continue to be a major driver for growth through the CAMEO Academy and the CDFI Incubator. CAMEO also expands resources, fosters ecosystems and advocates for public policies that support the business sector and builds public awareness of its economic impacts. CAMEO's services increase the ability of its robust member network of nonprofits - providing business advising, training, coaching and micro and small business loans- to advance the creation and growth of thriving small businesses in underserved communities.
