Since 1999, Sierra Pregnancy and Health (SPH) has been dedicated to providing physical, emotional and spiritual health care to women and families before, during and after pregnancy in a timely manner with great compassion. We believe every person is created in the image of God and has a purpose. SPH is a nonprofit pregnancy health clinic that develops and administers programs and services designed to promote healthy communities and strengthened families. We offer pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, STD/STI testing and treatment, and parenting and reproductive grief support. SPH is a free medical clinic and is funded 100% by donations. * Health *SPHs medical team of local physician volunteers donates their time to meet with new moms and encourages them to receive regular prenatal care to promote healthier pregnancies and newborns. Our nurse serves our patients with compassion and life-nurturing care. Sierra Pregnancy & Health boasts one of the best sexual health and integrity programs, providing up-to-date education on the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases and teen pregnancy. This free program is presented at junior high and high schools, both public and private.*Care for the Poor*SPHs services meet the needs of the poor, unserved, and underserved populations. We provide education and healthcare to those who face unplanned pregnancies. Services are provided free of charge. Our mentoring and advocacy relationship between the client and their mentor has helped women obtain true assistance and confidence in parenting. SPH recognizes that each person has unique challenges, strengths, concerns and needs. Therefore, we customize our services to address the individual needs of each woman who enters our door. Each person is provided with a well-trained Volunteer Advocate who will help them throughout this difficult time by providing them with emotional support, linking them to services within the community, providing a continuum of care and addressing their immediate needs through one of our many services. A cornerstone of our mission is serving all those who come to our doors.* Education *SPHs Earn While You Learn, parenting program offers new parents a comprehensive, empowering educational service with over 100 training lessons. The training materials are diverse and address a variety of topics ranging from nutrition, budgeting, life skills management, newborn care, new parent survival skills for mothers and fathers, discipline, setting life goals, and many others. SPH OFFERS EDUCATION AND PRACTICAL HELP AND RESOURCES THROUGH NURSE TAUGHT LABOR AND DELIVERY CLASSES, INFANT DEVELOPMENT CLASSES, DIAPER ASSISTANCE, PARENTING CLASSES AND REPRODUCTIVE GRIEF SUPPORT FOR MISCARRIAGE, INFERTILITY, ABORTION LOSS, AND STILLBIRTH.
