Fair Housing Services and Advocacy
The Housing Rights Center has twenty five (25) other smaller pass-through contracts with other Souther California cities utilizing CDBG funds to provide similar fair housing services to community residents. During its 2021-2022 fiscal year, the Housing Rights Center provided fair housing services to the County of Los Angeles as a sub-recipient of federal CBDG grant funds. This program assisted 10,926 individuals with housing concerns, 1,235 of which involved potential discrimination issues. HRC conducted factual investigations of 375 of these complaints to remedy possible legal disputes. This program assisted 10,750 individuals with housing concerns. 1,410 of which involved potential discrimination issues. HRC conducted factual investigations or 358 of these complaints to remedy possible legal disputes. HRS also provided the City's residents with a diverse outreach/education program consisting of presentations, media campaigns, trainings events and other related activities.
