Harambee is an empowering environment for children, youth and families in the Northwest Pasadena Community and beyond. Love, compassion and discipleship abound creating positive sustainable change for generations. We had 32 students enrolled in Harambee Prep. Our school is accredited through the Western Association of Colleges & Schools (WASC). We hosted our 2nd annual Pennies for Patients Fundraiser to benefit Leukemia patients. The drive was extremely successful in that our students raised money over the goal. Our Harambee Childrens Choir was requested to perform at several events throughout the year; including Disneylands Annual Celebrate Gospel. We hosted multiple student events including choir performances, holiday parties, a Spelling Bee competition and our annual Book Fair. We had approximately 245 volunteers participate in programs at Harambee Ministries. Our Pre-School program had 11 enrolled students, and three of our preschoolers performed with our Harambee Childrens Choir at several venues. Our pre-school Director and Teacher continue to work with our students to get them ready for kinder. This School year we continued to collaborate with church partners to help advance our curriculum and technology in the classroom. Each teacher received computers and new technology such as smartboards in their classrooms to improve classroom instruction and learning. We also were able to partner with the school district to provide multiple after-school tutors for students in need of additional support. Students also learned more about nutrition and physical health through the physical ed. teacher teaching health class twice a week.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2017 – Jun 30, 2018Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$420.2KProgram 2 [2018]
