Programs
TrevorClassic (U.S)
Our core program, Crisis Intervention, meets young people where they are and uplifts support to meet their needs. LGBTQ+ young people demonstrate their courage every day, accessing our crisis services at critical moments in their lives. Our trained crisis counselors support young people by affirming their experiences, de-escalating their level of suicide risk, and helping them build a plan for continued safety. Our Crisis Intervention services are available by phone (TrevorLifeline), SMS text messaging (TrevorText), and online chat (TrevorChat) every hour of the day, every day of the year, and are free of charge.GeographiesUnited StatesDatesNot indicatedSourceUser-generatedSuicide crisis interventionYoung adults,Adolescents,Preteens,LGBTQ people500K–TrevorMexico
Our Crisis Intervention services are also made directly available to LGBTQ+ young people in Central Mexico and Latin America. Youth can connect with our crisis counselors during critical moments in their lives via chat (TrevorChat), text (TrevorText), and WhatsApp.GeographiesMexicoDatesNot indicatedSourceUser-generatedSuicide crisis interventionYoung adults,Adolescents,Preteens,LGBTQ people40K–Suicide Prevention: Advocacy to Protect LGBTQ+ Young People
Through nonpartisan efforts at the federal, state, and local levels, Trevor advocates for the rights and futures of LGBTQ+ young people through legislation, litigation, and coalition-building. We are currently focused on opposing the dangerous wave of anti-trans bills, ensuring federal funding of LGBTQ-specialized, culturally-competent care through 988, and protecting LGBTQ+ young people from conversion therapy.GeographiesUnited StatesDatesNot indicatedSourceUser-generatedChildren's rights,LGBTQ rights,Diversity and intergroup relations,Child advocacyYoung adults,Adolescents,Preteens,LGBTQ people––
