FICPFM Formerly Incarcerated Convicted People's and Familiies MovementIn order to expand the organization's national advocacy work and reach, in 2020, A New Way of Life became the fiscal sponsor of the Formerly Incarcerated, Convicted People & Families Movement (FICPFM). Established in 2011, FICPFM is a network of over 50 civil and human rights organizations led by policy experts, subject matter experts, organizers, thought-leaders, artists, healers, and attorneys who also have conviction histories or are family members who are closely involved with people living with conviction histories. FICPFM and affiliate members made significant progress on a number of these initiatives in 2020. This was especially true with the right to vote. The barriers to the restoration of voting rights can include financial costs running into the tens of thousands of dollars, effectively stripping formerly incarcerated people of their legal right to vote. Combined with their web-based Can I Vote tool, FICPFM is working to restore the rights of the tens of millions of Americans with pastGeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2020 – Dec 31, 2020Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$2.7MProgram 2 [2020]
