Water and Sanitation Initiatives
Accomplishments 2024Conducted a topography study, and built a new water capturing and water treatment system for the community of Yomybato, creating a sustainable clean water system for 500 people.Installed 3,800-liter portable geomembrane water filtration tanks in the community of Tayakome, creating a sustainable water treatment system to provide clean water for 200 people.Conducted ongoing microbiology water tests to ensure the water is safe for human consumption in five project villages in Southeastern and Northern Peru.Structural repairs to the school bathrooms in the villages of Tayakome, Yomybato and Huacaria.Implemented low-tech chlorine systems in the communities of Huacaria and Shintuya in SE Peru and Louis Terry in northern Peru.
