Networking California for Sickle Cell Care
Networking California for Sickle Cell Care (NCSCC). The main objective of NCSCC process is for providers, agencies, and the community to collaboratively implement this collectively developed cohesive plan. The plan articulates specific goals to ensure that individuals with sickle cell disease receive comprehensive, patient-centered, coordinated, accessible, safe, and high-quality care no matter where they live or seek care in California. California Newborn Screening Program - Since 1978, the Sickle Cell Disease Foundation has provided counseling, education, and training services throughout California. Counseling for parents of newborns identified with a hemoglobin trait is offered free follow-up counseling and testing. The SCDF also provides a certification course in single-gene counseling.
