Child Abuse Prevention Programs
Prevention programs - Over the past year, Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina supported over 50 agencies across North Carolina that implement Circle of Parents, The Incredible Years, and/or the Strengthening Families Program, continued supporting local communities in child abuse prevention planning and supported Local Implementing Agencies (LIAs) for Triple P. This year Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina helped local agencies adjust to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. We prioritized strategies in response to COVID-19 by helping agencies pivot to virtual service delivery, adapted resources for agencies who support parents, and advocated for policies that help strengthen families. These key child abuse prevention programs teach strategies for handling challenges, understanding developmental milestones, and provide opportunities for parents to connect with one another for support. We know that effective implementation of these programs is crucial to ensuring parent support programs achieve intended results and has critical social, economic, and public health implications for our state. Research shows that programs are most effective when providers receive regular, on-going support. Even through the challenges brought on by the pandemic we continued to support agencies and trained professionals who offer parenting support programs.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2020 – Jun 30, 2021Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$250.1KChild Development Awareness Campaigns
