Frequently Asked Questions
When does this begin?
Connecticut Mapped launched on April 21, 2026.
Access is available to all active Council members through April 2027.
What is the Connecticut Mapped?
Connecticut Mapped is a platform created by the Connecticut Council for Philanthropy in partnership with Impala. It brings together data and insights on Connecticut philanthropy — empowering Council members to see grants given or received in the state, benchmark grantees, compare grantmaking to peers, and explore the full philanthropic landscape, all in one place.
How can I join the Connecticut Philanthropy Hub
It's quick and easy! Click here to register.
After a few short onboarding steps, you'll have full access to the Hub.
Where does the Hub data come from?
Impala transforms millions of publicly available IRS Form 990 filings into detailed profiles for nonprofits and foundations across the country. Connecticut Mapped draws on this data and organizes it into customized sub-sectors — or "ecosystems" — tailored to Connecticut's philanthropic field.
Nonprofits and funders can also upload recent 990s to enhance and update the dataset.
How often is the data updated?
Data is updated on a rolling basis as new information becomes available. Profile updates made by organizations appear immediately; uploaded 990s are processed within a few days; and IRS data for a given fiscal year is incorporated as it becomes available. Organizations that upload their recent 990s help address the IRS's longstanding data lag and keep Connecticut Mapped as current as
possible.
Who has access to this offering?
All Council members have full access to Connecticut Mapped.

How is my organization's data used?
Most data comes from publicly available Form 990s released by the IRS, supplemented by user-uploaded 990s, self-reported profile information, and some third-party sources. Your privacy and data security are a priority.
To learn more, see Impala's Help Center, Terms of Use, and Privacy Policy.
How does impala protect my privacy?
Impala uses current data privacy and security tools and puts control in your hands — you can edit any information you've added to your profile at any time.
I’m busy doing good in the world - will this take a lot of time?
Not at all.
Your profile is prebuilt using publicly available data and claims to take less than 2 minutes.
Who can I contact with questions?
Reach out to support@impala.digital, and the team will follow up promptly.
